Tomorrow I’m headed to Lisbon, Portugal, for the 2019 edition of Web Summit, the largest technology conference in the world, with over 1,200 speakers and 70,000 attendees.
Since connecting with Web Summit’s CFTO Mike Sexton over Twitter this past summer, I have been in touch with the conference’s communications team and the idea for a collaboration was born: to make GIFs that celebrate some of their 2019 female speakers, from CEOs to athletes, politicians and data scientists.

What’s really cool about this project is that thanks to my verified status on GIPHY, when somebody types “CEO” “data scientist” or “women in tech”, my GIFs typically show up at the top of search results. I love imagining how people get to learn about inspiring women through this GIPHY project:
